I was there!
That is exactly what happened to me earlier this year when I was in Adelaide and the city experienced its highest ever temperature.
The previous record stood at 46.2c dating back to January 1939. This year it hit 46.6C (my car was showing 47C).
It was so hot that on temperature charts we were in the dark purple shades having gone straight past the different shades of reds.
You can feel so much heat on your skin. It’s like standing next to a foundry furnace in full melt mode in a short sleeve shirt. Even some flights got delayed due to the extreme heat. Now that’s a new one for me too.
So, whilst every local person there was moaning about this extreme freak weather, I was actually quite pleased I made it because a record that stood for so long is highly unlikely to be broken again for a while and therefore, I can say…. I was there

As we all know December is busy. From Christmas markets to office parties, visiting family and prepping for the big day. I have listed my tips for self-care over the festive period to avoid a burn out!

The Allotment
2019 has been a better year for the vegetable patch – primarily because there has been an unbroken water supply unlike last year when there was little or no water for a 6 week period.
It is now not only the very warm part of the year – we are around 40c every day – but the vegetables are ripe and ready.
