The life of a travelling man does not always run smooth........
Now as it turned out the disruption on this occasion was not too bad, I ended up at my final destination, after 2 flights and about 4,500 miles, only about 90 minutes late. The second of my flights was quite interesting as it flew straight through a thunderstorm with all the turbulence that you would expect and the view out the window was nothing less than spectacular as the storm raged on all around the plane.
I do take my hat off (figuratively not literally) to the airline crew and support staff who under these conditions (even though recent media attention paints a different picture) usually rise to the occasion and do a superb job of getting me to where I want to go as safely as possible.
I do get to see a wide variety of weather conditions and some truly amazing sights with all the travelling that I do and that’s just one of the many things that I love about my job.
